Desiring God Bible for Kids in ESV

Conspiracy Alert! The new ESV Children’s Bible is in truth a Children’s Desiring God study Bible in disguise. My first clue was the topics covered in the supplementary material. “Fighting the Fight of Faith” is not the typical article in a children’s Bible.

The table of contents left no doubt. Over fifty pages of articles were copyright by Jill Nelson, Sally Michael or www.ChildrenDesiringGod.com.

On page 1569 they have a table titled, "What is Salvation?" Here are their nine points.

1. Chosen by God
2. The gospel call
3. New spiritual life
4. Conversion
5. Justification
6. Adoption
7. Sanctification
8. Perseverance of believers
9. Death and glorification
   

This is a truly excellent Bible – not just for kids. The content of those resource pages is provides some of the best offered in any Bible. The text is the ESV, the same as the grown up version. And the 200+ illustrations are excellent. This has become our new family Bible. If your kids are ready for the grown-up Bible, I recommend this one.
